At Confections by The Sea, our journey is shaped by a deep passion for confectionery artistry and a commitment to excellence. Thea, our founder, ignited her passion in the vibrant world of New York City, where she refined her skills at renowned cake studios. Moving to Cape Cod, the serene landscapes inspired our nature-infused designs.
Thea and Tim are the owners of Confections by the Sea. While Thea is the face of our creations, her husband Tim plays a crucial behind-the-scenes role, ensuring that every detail aligns with our vision of elegance and excellence.
Where Dreams and Confections Meet:
Your Journey with Confections by The Sea
Thea and Tim were originally teachers at an independent school in New York City for many years, spending their summers on Cape Cod. After a brief introduction to cookie decorating in 2005, Thea knew she had found her passion and dedicated herself to learning everything she could about the art of cookie and cake decorating. She enrolled at The Institute of Culinary Education and later trained at several wedding cake and custom cake shops in New York City.

Unique Celebrations, Timeless Creations
In 2011, Tim and Thea decided to start a home-based business focusing on decorated cakes and cookies. By late 2019, circumstances led them to Cape Cod, where they were captivated by the slower pace of life and the natural beauty surrounding them. They decided to stay and build their business there.
